Manchester City will face Arsenal in the FA Community Shield at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, August 6, the Football Association has announced.
The contest will kick-off at 5:30pm and will be broadcast live on both ITV and ITVX. The traditional season curtain-raiser will return to the capital in its 100th year after last year's Community Shield clash between City and Liverpool was contested at Leicester City's King Power Stadium because of the final of the 2022 UEFA European Women's Championship.
After being beaten 3-1 in last year's final, City will be hoping to lay their hands on the trophy this time around and add yet another piece of silverware to their collection.
After winning both the Premier League title and the FA Cup this season, they will lock horns with Arsenal because the North London club finished as runners-up in the Premier League.
