Community donates over 100 items of cleaning equipment to Salford-based police station that ran out of stock

Salford community came together to help officers at Eccles Police Station after they ran out of essential cleaning equipment.

Sergeant Mike Lawrence took to Facebook to post that the their department had a limited supply of a cleaning and protective gear to keep their staff and office free of infection from COVID-19.

Sgt Lawrence says the force has had a massive response from the public saw over a hundred items of hand gels, anti-septic wipes, kitchen towels and surface cleaners sent to the station.

Sgt Lawrence told the M.E.N how residents from across Salford and Manchester all jumped at the chance to do their bit with one member of public buying £80 worth of of equipment to donate to the force.
