Taylor Alison Swift is an American singer-songwriter. She is known for narrative songs about her personal life, which have received widespread media coverage. At age 14, Swift became the youngest artist signed by the Sony/ATV Music publishing house and, at 15, she signed her first record deal.

Her 2006 eponymous debut album was the longest-charting album of the 2000s in the US. Its third single, "Our Song", made her the youngest person to single-handedly write and perform a number-one song on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Swift's second album, Fearless, was released in 2008.

Buoyed by the pop crossover success of the singles "Love Story" and "You Belong with Me", it became the US' best-selling album of 2009 and was certified diamond in the US. The album won four Grammy Awards, and Swift became the youngest Album of the Year winner.

Commemorative 50p coin sells for £250 on eBay in Scottish sale

A rare 50p coin has just sold for 500 times its value price. Known as the Blue Peter 50p, it has been snapped up for £250 on eBay, with the selling location listed as Glasgow.

In 2009, the coin was distributed to mark the 2012 London Olympic Games. Released in Blue Peter branded packaging, It features a portrait of the Queen used on all coinage from 1998 to 2014.

However, the reverse design depicts a high jumper to represent the forthcoming sporting event. Designed by Florence Jackson, at the time aged eight, it was the winning entry in a competition held by TV show Blue Peter which saw 17,000 entries, according to coin collecting site 50pence.co.uk.

It is the 17th design to feature on the UK's 50p. With a low mintage figure, CoinTrust reports that only 100,000 were issued in 2009.
