Clonyard Farm is set to open to the public for the first time under Scotland’s Gardens Scheme. The mixed plantings around the house and traditional stone buildings merge from sun to shade and woodland planting to provide all year round interest.

There is an ornamental vegetable garden and views over pasture, wetland and a loch to mature mixed forests to be enjoyed. The garden joins a wildflower meadow dominated by black knapweed and established yellow rattle.

It features three species of orchids, a former mill pond and a notable damselfly site. Both are maintained specifically to all native wildlife and plants to thrive.

It is currently looking at its best and can be truly appreciated by following one of the walks around the meadow. There are also wetland and woodland walks to two lochs and a crannog.
