Colin Farrell is unrecognisable in shots released from his new BBC Two drama The North Water. The upcoming five-part series is an adaption of Ian McGuire’s novel, also titled The North Water, and Dubliner Colin Farrell will play harpooner and killer Henry Drax.

However, the actor’s character has many differences to the Colin we’re used to seeing on the red carpet, as he has long hair, a long beard, bedraggled clothes and appears to be smoking a pipe while on a boat.

Stood next to Colin’s character in the first look at The North Water is Hollywood actor Stephen Graham who stars as Brownlee, the Volunteer’s Captain, and can also be seen standing on the ship deck wearing a long fur coat.
