The Coastguard and lifeboat crews has been called in to help in the search for a missing North Uist man who was last seen almost a week ago.
Duncan Macleod, 52, disappeared from the Baymore area of North Uist on the evening of Wednesday, November 9. He was reported missing on Monday, November 14, after failing to return to his home in the Western Isles.
Rescue teams from Lochmaddy, Benbecula and Lochboisdale, supported by a helicopter unit and Stornoway lifeboat crew have now joined police in the search for Duncan.
His disappearance has been described as "out of character" and police are asking anyone with information or a potential sighting to get in touch.
