But second half substitutes from home gaffer Ian McCall paid off as replacements Robbie Leitch and Jaze Kabia provided the assists for Jordan Allan's deadly double, as the striker struck twice within three minutes early in the second half.
It also made it back-to-back league wins for the first time this season and put them within touching distance of nearest rivals Stranraer, who are three points clear with a game in hand.
Clyde had been 10 points from safety in mid-February.Unsurprisingly, boss McCall named the same side that thumped leaders Stenhousemuir 6-1 last week with two-goal hero Jordan Allan leading the line.The Bully Wee almost got off to a dream start inside 35 seconds as some loose play at the back from the visitors saw Liam Scullion pick the pocket of Mark Gallagher 30-yards from goal.
