Claire Byrne has opened up about the loss of her father, who died a number of months ago during the height of the pandemic. The presenter’s father was 86 years old at the time of his death, and despite being ill for a long time, it was still a blow to the entire family.
Claire explains that her father died at home, and he was surrounded by his loved ones and friends, but still, the feelings of loss were immense after his death.
Speaking to the RTÉ Guide about how she reflected on her own life once her father passed away, the Claire Byrne Live presenter said: ‘It just hit me like a train.
In a way there’s no logic to that feeling.’ She added: ‘You reflect differently on everything in your life when you lose a parent.
