The producers of Claim to Fame are dishing on some of what goes on behind-the-scenes of the show! The ABC reality competition just returned for it’s third season on Wednesday night (July 10) and the first contestant was eliminated.
However, producers Eric Detwiler and Scott Teti have revealed that each eliminated contestant doesn’t actually go home after, and they spilled on a new twist in season three for those who are sent “home.” Keep reading to find out more… After each “guess off,” the contestant who is eliminated doesn’t go back into the house with their fellow competitors, but rather, they are sequestered in a hotel until the end of the season! “They stay in a hotel until the finale, when they return to the house for one final bit of gameplay,” the producers revealed to People.
This actually previously surprised co-host Kevin Jonas. “The biggest of the rules was the contestants couldn’t leave!
So they really had to keep up their cover stories for a very long time,” he said. “It was less about the rules and more about the challenge of keeping your story straight.” Once the season finale comes around, the eliminated contestants return to the house and can help those still in the game, but in season three, there’s going to be a new twist. “Some sequestered players have had a lot of time to reflect and process info about other players, so when they are reunited with fellow castmates they often have a lot to tell!” the producers shared.
