Cinematographer Halyna Hutchins Killed On ‘Rust’ Set After Prop Gun Accident Involving Alec Baldwin

theplaylist.netYesterday, the film industry was devastated when it was announced that cinematographer Halyna Hutchins was killed when a prop gun was discharged on the set of the Western, “Rust.” And now that the Santa Fe County Sheriff’s Department has released a statement, there is more information regarding what actually happened on set.
According to the statement, Hutchins and director Joel Souza were both injured when actor Alec Baldwin “discharged” a prop firearm while on the set of “Rust.” Hutchins and Souza were immediately taken to hospitals, but unfortunately, the cinematographer eventually was pronounced dead due to the injuries sustained.
