Christopher Eccleston is returning to Doctor Who in a shock U-turn after criticising the show since he left in 2005. In news that will delight Whovians all over the world, Eccleston, who appeared for just one series on BBC1 and claimed working on it “damaged” him and his career, has agreed to return to play the Ninth Doctor once more to introduce him to a new generation of fans.
