Boris Johnson has admitted it is "too early to say" whether families will be able to have small gatherings at Christmas as the UK continues to grapple with the coronavirus pandemic.
Today the PM introduced a new "rule of six" in England - meaning that from Monday people cannot meet socially in groups of more than six, indoors or outdoors.
It is expected that these rules will be in place for at least three months - and if there isn't a major breakthrough it could be as long as six months.
Mr Johnson has previously said he hoped things could be back to normal by Christmas, but today he painted a more pessimistic picture.
