The event is known for its star-studded guest list and striking outfits. It marks the opening of the annual fashion exhibition at the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute.
Attending the Met Gala for the first time, the beloved actress looked chic in a custom-made Thom Browne suit, which she paired with a sleek floor-length black tailored cape and skirt as well as statement shades.
Underneath her cape, she wore a corset over a classic white shirt and charming white bow tie. The actress currently stars in HBO's series The Gilded Age, meaning she had the expert's knowledge on this year's gala dress code, "Gilded Glamour".
