Christina Applegate has emotionally bid a fond farewell to fans at this year’s SAG Awards ceremony as she revealed that she feared this year’s red carpet may be her “last awards show as an actor” amid her ongoing battle with Multiple Sclerosis. The 51 year old star, who is best known for her work on Fox sitcom Married…with Children, and for starring alongside SNL alumni Will Ferrel in Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy, made the sad admission as she walked this year’s SAG red carpet alongside her daughter.
Posing alongside 12 year old Sadie Grace LeNoble, the progression of Christina’s illness became more clear as she was pictured using a black cane on the red carpet, which featured the words “FU [f**k you] MS’” written on the bottom as well as her daughters name, next to a bedazzled red heart.
Both mother and daughter opted for matching outfits as they posed for photos, with Christina channelling some old school glamour in a black velvet tuxedo-style gown, red lipstick and her golden blonde tresses in loose waves.
Sadie meanwhile donned a structured black blazer, newsboy cap and a pair of black Dr. Martens boots with bright yellow laces.
