LA Pride in the Park will be a multi-stage concert at Los Angeles State Historic Park, a 32-acre space with a 25,000 capacity, June 11 from 1 to 11 p.m. “The inaugural LA Pride in 1970 set the foundation for what would become an annual celebration of the Greater Los Angeles LGBTQIA+ community,” Gerald Garth, LA Pride’s vice president of programs and initiatives, said in a statement.“Over the course of those 50 years, it has been inspiring to see neighborhoods throughout LA organize their own Pride celebrations. “As we return to in-person events, LA Pride is honored to continue the tradition that we started 50 years ago, this time with the iconic Christina Aguilera in an iconic new location,” he said.
Tickets, $35 for general admission plus service fees, are on sale. The concert is the first LA Pride event after a two year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
It also is the first LA Pride gathering following a split with the City of West Hollywood. In July 2020, LA Pride officials told the City Council that LA Pride would leave the City.
