Christian Eriksen has revealed that he opted to join Manchester United as he wanted to get back to a high level again after his career took a massive setback following his cardiac arrest.
United made Eriksen their second signing of the summer in July when they edged out the competition to sign the playmaker on a free transfer following the expiration of his contract at Brentford.
Eriksen had joined the Bees in January as he made a miraculous return to football. Just six months earlier, the Dane suffered a cardiac arrest while representing his country on the pitch in a Euro 2020 group game against Finland.
Eriksen survived the ordeal but had to be released from his contract at reigning Serie A champions Inter as players with defibrillators fitted are forbidden from taking to the pitch in Italy.
