In a resurfaced interview, Chris Hemsworth opened up about his fears before filming Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga.
The 40-year-old actor stars in the new movie, which premiered on May 24, alongside Anya Taylor-Joy. While the movie has been met with warm reviews (it’s currently Certified Fresh on Rotten Tomatoes), he used filming it as an example of a time that he was the “most stressed” about work and explained why he was “scared out of [his] mind” by it. Keep reading to find out more… While on the Happy Sad Confused podcast in late 2022, Chris said that he had a hard time finding his character at first. “Often I get a script and I know from the first read, the second read, I know who the character is and I get an instant, sort of, visceral feeling attached to it, like, ‘Alright, I’ve got it.’” he said.
That was not the case with Furiosa. Though he was “in awe of the script” and loved director George Miller, he wasn’t able to get a read on his character.
Thankfully that changed for him. “We did about four weeks of rehearsals, and we started digging in and diving into it, and things started coming to me.
