Chet Hanks Recreates ‘Forrest Gump’ Scenes With Father Tom Hanks in ‘You Better Run’ Music Video
variety.comThania Garcia Chet Hanks reprises his father Tom Hanks‘ iconic role as Forrest Gump in a new music video for his country duo Something Out West.
His and Drew Arthur’s second single as a signed act, “You Better Run,” features Chet Hanks recreating iconic scenes from the 1994 Oscar-winning film, including the famous bench scene, where he sits beside Forrest Gump himself, Tom Hanks, in the video.
Along with the bench scene, Chet Hanks sings on a boat similar to Forrest Gump’s shrimping boat ‘Jenny,’ named after his childhood best friend (played by Robin Wright), and later appears as Forrest Gump during the character’s cross-country run.
Something Out West was formed after Chet Hanks and Arthur were roommates in California while each began a new chapter of life towards sobriety.
