Chelsea 'made £20m' from Eden Hazard last season despite Real Madrid struggles

Chelsea are believed to have earned £20m last season as part of the deal which saw Eden Hazard move to Real Madrid despite the Belgian star's struggles in Spain.

After seven sensational seasons at Stamford Bridge, Hazard joined Los Blancos in 2019 for a reported initial £89m, with the potential final fee standing at an eyewatering £150m with add-ons.

But so far the switch to La Liga has not worked out for Hazard, and he has suffered with numerous injury problems and has made just 37 appearances in all competitions for Los Blancos.

However, he returned from his latest issue in the 0-0 draw with Real Betis this weekend, and could be set to face his former side when Madrid host Chelsea in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final
