Chelsea are said to be in ‘advanced’ talks with Manchester City over a potential Stamford Bridge return for Nathan Ake. The defender has played only a bit-part for Pep Guardiola since his 2020 switch from Bournemouth.
Ake left Chelsea for the Cherries in 2017 for £20m. City paid £41m for the Netherlands international and are said to want to recoup that kind of fee for him if they're to sell this summer.
They are hopeful that such a fee can be agreed with new Blues owner Todd Boehly keen to demonstrate his investment in his first transfer window. However, the London club's pursuit of Ake is complicated by City’s desire to have a replacement lined-up and Chelsea's reported interest in signing Cristiano Ronaldo from Manchester United.
