thefader.comThe nominees for the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards have been announced, with a Video of the Year category featuring Doja Cat, Miley Cyrus, Nicki Minaj, Olivia Rodrigo, Sam Smith & Kim Petras, SZA and Taylor Swift.
While Swift and SZA also take the lead in terms of overall nominations, with 8 and 6 respectively, everyone else in the category is trailing right behind them with five noms each.
In addition to this year's female-dominated Video of the Year slate, the Artist of the Year category features all-women nominees for the first time since the award was introduced in 2017.
Beyoncé gets her only shoutout here, since she has yet to share any visuals from last year's RENAISSANCE. Then again, maybe the real visuals were us all along.
