A young woman who felt 'wiped out' after walking around Tesco and was left 'breathless' walking to lectures was left needing a heart transplant.
Charlotte Carney was studying Forensic Psychology at Liverpool John Moores University in 2015 when she first realised that something wasn't quite right, CheshireLive reports.
The 25-year-old struggled with breathlessness, despite being a regular a gym-goer and feeling otherwise fit and healthy. Charlotte, then 19, went to her GP feeling 'quite concerned' - where she was first checked over for a chest infection. Charlotte, from Northwich, said: "It was when I went to university in 2015, where I was walking to lectures and was way more breathless than anyone else I walked with, which was quite concerning as I was going to the gym a lot and I was fit and healthy, so it never really made much sense why it was so difficult for me. "I went to the GP and had all the normal checks to see if I had a chest infection or anything like that, but everything came back and said you're fine." The following summer, Charlotte, who was still adamant something 'wasn't quite right', underwent an electrocardiogram (ECG).
