Neil Lennon

Neil Francis Lennon (born 25 June 1971) is a Northern Irish football coach and former player who is the manager of Scottish Premiership club Celtic. During his playing career he represented English clubs Manchester City, Crewe Alexandra and Leicester City.

Lennon moved to Scottish club Celtic in 2000, where he made over 200 appearances and was appointed captain in 2005. Before retiring as a player, he returned to England and played for Nottingham Forest and Wycombe Wanderers. Lennon made 40 appearances for Northern Ireland in nine years, scoring two goals. Lennon was appointed manager of Celtic in March 2010, initially in a caretaker capacity after the departure of Tony Mowbray.

Stiliyan Petrov by claiming the former Celtic midfielder wasn’t qualified to analyse his old club’s Europa League clash against Real Betis.

The Bulgarian was drafted into a London studio by BT Sport at the eleventh hour after Neil Lennon and Chris Sutton were denied access to Ibrox Stadium.

The broadcaster had planned to kick off coverage of their Old Firm double header with Lennon and Sutton discussing Celtic’s clash in Spain before Gers hosted Lyon.

But after Light Blues chiefs denied them that chance, BT Sport changed their plans and Petrov was the man they turned do as he is based south of the border.Petrov won 10 major honours in seven years at Parkhead and helped Celtic reach the UEFA Cup final in Seville - the last time they were in.
