Charley Taylor was a legendary Washington wide receiver who caught over 600 passes during his Hall of Fame career.

Charley Taylor was a legendary wide receiver for the Washington Commanders (formerly Redskins) who was the NFL’s all-time leading receiver when he retired in 1977.

He was drafted by Washington in 1964 out of Arizona State and spent his entire NFL career with the club. He started out as a running back and was the UPI rookie of the year at that position.

Taylor switched to wide receiver in 1966 and made eight Pro Bowls. He finished his career with 649 receptions, an NFL record at the time that has since been broken.
