Charles Leclerc was fortunate to avoid any injury at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix on Friday evening. Leclerc suffered a big shunt into the wall in FP2 and the 24-year-old has issued a statement to apologise to his team for the mishap.
The Monaco-born driver currently sits in sixth in the Drivers' Championship standings, within touching distance of Lando Norris in the race for fifth place.
He has the chance to make ground at the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in Jeddah this weekend. But in the final moments of second practice in preparation for Sunday's race, Leclerc lost control of the rear of his car before hitting the barrier at full pace.
