Rebecca Rubin Senior Film and Media Reporter “Roofman,” a drama starring Channing Tatum and Kirsten Dunst, will open in theaters next fall.
Paramount is distributing the movie, which is scheduled for Oct. 3, 2025. Derek Cianfrance (“Blue Valentine”) is directing “Roofman” from a script he co-wrote with Kirk Gunn.
Based on a true story, the film follows Tatum as a former Army Ranger and struggling father who turns to robbing McDonald’s restaurants by cutting holes in their roofs, earning him the nickname “Roofman.” After escaping from prison, he starts a new life while hiding in a toy store, falling in love with a single mother (Dunst) and her two daughters.
However, his criminal past and a final robbery threaten to destroy his chance at redemption. Peter Dinklage rounds out the cast.
