Channel 4 Changing Rooms viewers were bewildered last night (September 7) when interior design celebrity and TV host Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen chose an unusual kitchen ingredient as a source of inspiration for a bedroom transformation.
In the latest episode, Laurence, 57, renowned for his unusual approach to home design, used kitchen ingredient pasta to decorate a statement piece for a room, more usually found on your plate than stuck to your wall.The DIY show, sometimes known for its disastrous makeovers, involves a trusting homeowner handing over the interior decorating of their residence to a flamboyant team and the show itself has now had a makeover after a 17 years.
First presented by TV personality Carol Smillie, Changing Rooms has been off air since 2004 and the new reboot has already raised eyebrows with a transformation using untraditional materials.
Laurence apparently drew his inspiration from Japan and decided to make a wall hanging from scratch using materials including C Changing Rooms favourites MDF wood and Artex.
