Mick Kennedy has called on his East Kilbride side to stay humble after their impressive, free-scoring start to the season. The Kilby gaffer watched his side knock League One Stirling Albion out of the SPFL Trust Trophy last midweek to set up a third round tie away to Edinburgh City next month, while they hammered Nithsdale Wanderers 9-0 in the South Challenge Cup on Saturday to progress.Kennedy’s men are also unbeaten in pursuit of the Lowland League title and defeated Celtic B 2-1 at K-Park on Tuesday night to stay unbeaten in the fifth tier - and go top of the table.Cowdenbeath come calling this weekend in a league clash and Kennedy - whose side top the table from Hearts B on goal difference - says they side need to keep their feet on the ground after picking up plaudits for recent performances. He said: “We have started well, we are scoring a lot of goals and playing a good style of football, so there are lots of people talking about us up and down the country.“But a successful team is judged in May when they are picking up trophies.“There is no point just being a good side in August and September when you are not winning leagues and cups.“It has been a good start, but all that good sentiment and good feeling can be quickly eradicated in a couple of games.“It is important we keep the momentum up, stay humble, keep focused and not get too carried away with all the noise that is around us.”Kennedy knows his side face another big test this weekend when Cowdenbeath come calling. He added: “If you start to look over the next few weeks, all the teams at the top of the league will start to play each other.“I think Cowdenbeath will be up there as well.
