Nick Walsh will be on VAR duty for Rangers’ home clash with Aberdeen on Saturday - with Steven McLean the man in the middle at Ibrox.
The duo will swap roles having been tasked with taking charge of Celtic’s thrilling 4-3 victory at Hearts last weekend. That pulsating encounter saw the new technology come under fire for failing to award Celtic a first half penalty when the ball struck Jambos defender Michael Smith on the arm in the box.
McLean was a busy man at VAR HQ as he recommended Walsh award Hearts a spot kick in the first half before ratifying a second penalty after the break.
Celtic also had a goal chalked off in a breathless encounter. Walsh will now revert to VAR at Clydesdale House with John McCrossan assisting.
