The couple broke their silence and referred to the decision as mutual and amicable in a joint statement. However, Sophie called the statement into question by filing a lawsuit against Joe on September 21.
In it, she alleged that the breakdown of their marriage happened “very quickly” and requested that their daughters be returned to her custody in England.
