Cathy disappears after shock health news as Bob is thrown into a panic in Emmerdale

struggling for a long time in Emmerdale with symptoms that seemed to be linked to her periods – she’s suffered from irritability, mood swings and anxiety and despite being put on the pill which has helped with her heavy periods, her emotional and psychological problems haven’t been any better.

Last week we saw her worrying her friends with her reckless behaviour as she put her life in danger, and Bob (Tony Audenshaw) finally realised his daughter wasn’t dealing with the normal problems of adolescence and needed proper help.

In coming episodes, Manpreet (Rebecca Sarker) and Wendy (Susan Cookson) finally get to the bottom of what’s been going on for poor Cathy when Manpreet tells Bob that his daughter is suffering from Premenstrual Dysphoric Disorder.

PMDD is a severe form of premenstrual syndrome (PMS) that causes a range of physical and emotional symptoms every month between ovulation and the start of the period.
