Cate Blanchett & Michael Fassbender Spy Drama ‘Black Bag’ From Steven Soderbergh Sets Spring 2025 Drop
deadline.comFocus Features has set Steven Soderbergh’s upcoming spy drama Black Bag for a March 14, 2025 theatrical release. The high-stakes mystery stars Cate Blanchett and Michael Fassbender alongside Regé-Jean Page, Marisa Abela, Naomie Harris, Tom Burke and Pierce Brosnan.
Producers are Casey Silver and Greg Jacobs. Focus’ upcoming fall slate includes the Morgan Neville documentary Piece by Piece which is headed to TIFF about performing artist Pharrell Williams as told through LEGOs.
There’s also Edward Bergers papal thriller Conclave, also set for TIFF,as well as Robert Eggers’s reimagining of Nosferatu. They also have the Sundance-Award winner DÌDI (弟弟) from Sean Wang, Yorgos Lanthimos’s next film Bugonia starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons, and the third installment of Downton Abbey.
Focus has domestic, while Universal has foreign on the pic. The only other wide release opening on March 14 next year is the Paramount action thriller Novocaine with Jack Quaid.
