Images capture the scene of devastation left behind after a serious road traffic collision in the early hours. A brick wall near the gated entrance to a property in Worsley, Salford, is shown destroyed after the smash, with bricks and rubble scattered across the pavement and road.

Medical debris is also visible after the fire service confirmed a casualty was cut free from the wreckage of a car and taken injured to hospital.

Their condition after the collision early on Sunday hasn't yet been confirmed by police. Reports from the scene say the car, which hasn't been described, clipped a kerb and smashed into the wall.

Unconfirmed reports suggest it then landed on its roof at the scene. Emergency services including specialist firefighters were called to Leigh Road in Worsley, opposite the entrance road to RHS Bridgewater, at around 3.40am.
