Jorge Santana, the youngest brother of guitarist Carlos Santana, has died aged 68 of natural causes, his reps have confirmed.
John Regna, his rep, confirmed the news to TMZ that Jorge, who worked with Carlos both on-stage and at his management company as director of artist relations, had passed away.
Jorge was the youngest of the three Santana brothers, and was also a guitar player like Carlos after beginning to play in San Francisco when he was 14.
He had joined a band in the 1960s alongside friends from his high school, initially called The Malibus until changing their name to Malo in 1970 after the band’s frontman’s mother yelled at them: ‘Todos ustedes son malo!’ which means ‘You guys are bad’.
