Staff at a care home failed to check on an elderly woman with dementia who routinely used the rubbish bin in her room as a toilet, an ombudsman’s report has said.
The daughter of the vulnerable woman, complained that workers at Gorton Parks Care Home, where her mum resided, continually failed to meet her mother’s care needs and she often found she had urinated in a rubbish bin.
She said that problems with her mother’s care also included not supporting her to eat properly and leaving her unwashed and in unclean clothes.
A recently published adult social care ombudsman’s report said that Gorton Parks Care Home, on Taylor Street, Gorton, was a care provider for the woman (referred to as Ms Y) on behalf of Manchester City Council.
