Care home bosses who sacked an MP for speaking out over PPE shortages have backtracked and admitted they did have a shortage.
Nadia Whittome, Nottingham East’s Labour MP, had been working at the local Lark Hill retirement village for almost a month at the height of the pandemic.
But Extra Care charitable Trust, which runs the site in Nottingham, told her she had to go in May because of her comments about PPE shortages.
Ms Whittome, 23, who never blamed the company for the lack of PPE, said she was “appalled” at the time.
