Car torched while Scots owner camped in hills with friends

Police have launched a probe after a car was torched while the owner was camping with friends in West Lothian.Scott Kerr, 24, returned from the overnight trip at a wooded area in the Bathgate Hills to find his Ford Fiesta completely burnt out.

The vehicle was parked on Limefield Road in the town and officers from Police Scotland have confirmed they are treating the blaze as "wilful".

A picture taken by Scott after he discovered the car showed it to be completely destroyed by the blaze. He said: "My car was broken into and burnt out at the side of the road up the Bathgate Hills on Friday night whilst I was camping.

I discovered the car at 12pm on Saturday afternoon.“I couldn’t believe it. I was gobsmacked. My car was navy blue. My mate was asking where my car was.
