A car has ploughed into a Boots store after smashing through several parked cars at a retail park this afternoon. A black Volkswagen Tiguan can be seen within the shop at Edge Lane, Liverpool, having driven through the front entrance.Broken glass and debris from the shop frontage cover the floor, while a broken metal bollard is bent out of shape.
A "huge emergency response" has been scrambled to the scene with "at least four cars damaged", the Liverpool ECHO reports.It is understood there are at least two fire engines, two ambulances and five police vehicles at the scene.
A cordon has been put in place around a large section of the car park surrounding Boots.An eyewitness told hold the VW hit a number of parked vehicles before smashing into the store.
Cops confirmed three other vehicles were damaged in the incident.Merseyside police have launched a probe into the incident and have urged anyone with information to come forward.
