Captain Tom Moore is a man on a mission - to raise as much as possible for the NHS frontline heroes keeping the country safe in the coronavirus pandemic.

The 100-year-old, who is celebrating his birthday today, has raised almost £30million for NHS charities by walking laps of his garden in Bedfordshire.

Word War Two veteran Captain Tom has originally hoped to raise £1,000 by his 100th birthday. But his incredible efforts captured the hearts of the nation and he has now vowed to keep walking if the money is still coming in.

The father-of-two has also become the oldest person to score a UK number one with his rendition of You'll Never Walk Alone, recorded with Michael Ball and the NHS Voices Of Care Choir.
