Simon Phillip Cowell (born 7 October 1959) is an English television personality, businessman and record executive. He has judged on the British television talent competition series Pop Idol (2001–2003), The X Factor (2004–2010, 2014–present) and Britain's Got Talent (2007–present), and the American television talent competition series American Idol (2002–2010), The X Factor (2011–2013), and America's Got Talent (2016–present). Cowell is the principal, founder and chief executive of the British entertainment company Syco.

Cancer charity supports Lanarkshire patients as cost of living rises

A charity which provided nearly £200,000 in financial support to cancer patients in Lanarkshire last year is warning of the impact of rising cost of living on people contending with illness.Macmillan Cancer Support says it is “bracing itself for a flood of people looking for support” amid pressures including soaring energy costs – but is emphasising to patients and their families that “you don’t have to do this alone”.The organisation provides a range of support, information and grants for people living with cancer, including funding a welfare rights service which is run by North Lanarkshire Council.The Lanarkshire Live app is available to download now.
