Gary Neville believes Manchester City must win at Anfield this afternoon to prove one final point under Pep Guardiola. City travel to Liverpool in what is a huge game in the context of the Premier League season.
Both teams currently sit just behind Arsenal in the table after their victory over Brentford on Saturday evening. However, a win for either the Blues or the Merseyside club at Anfield on Sunday would move the respective team to the top of the Premier League and in turn, install them as favourites for the title.
For City, Anfield has not been a happy hunting ground for them having won just once in their last ten trips in all competitions. Looking ahead to the fixture, the former Manchester United captain told Sky Sports: "The way I see it, it’s almost like a crescendo moment for them in a way because what else have they got left to prove under Pep Guardiola? "They’ve won the treble, they’ve won numerous league titles but the one thing that continuously defeats them season-in, season-out is this place [Anfield].
