Campervan bursts into flames on busy Scots road as fire crews tackle blaze

A campervan erupted in flames on a busy road in Fife this morning. Emergency services were scrambled to the B981 between Cardenden and Lochgelly at around 11.40am.Fire crews raced to the scene to tackle the flames pouring out of the front of the van, while Police Scotland officers assisted with traffic management on the busy road, known locally as Liza Brae.Footage from the scene showed traffice driving past the fireball van as bright orange flames leapt from its bonnet and thick smoke billowed into the sky.Images from the scene showed SFRS teams on the road as they tackled the fireball vehicle.

It is understood the fire crews left the scene shortly before 1pm.No one was hurt during the incident.A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "We were alerted at 11.40am on Thursday, July 11, to reports of a campervan on fire on Auchterderran Road near Lochgelly."Operations Control mobilised one fire appliance to the scene, with the crew extinguishing the fire.
