Cambuslang Rangers need 'restructure' as they prepare for life in First Division

Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Billy Campbell says the club needs to be restructured as they prepare for life in the West of Scotland First Division.Camby ended a miserable season in the Premier League with a 3-0 home defeat against Cumnock on Saturday, as they dropped down with seven wins, two draws and 21 defeats from their 30 games.The jump from winning the previous season’s Conference B was always going to be huge, but Campbell says they need much more help to let them focus solely on the football side of things.He said: “There will be a change in the structure around the playing staff, and hopefully Paul [McColl, co-boss] and I can get a bit more help in the background as well.“It has been a bit of a tough year for us, with regards to trying to get funds for the wages and getting the park dealt with.“Allan Love [chairman] and Keith MacKenzie [vice-chairman] have been great, but that’s all that we’ve had.“We’ve predominantly had one committee member, and that’s nowhere near enough.“Not just playing-wise, but the whole infrastructure needs to be better.“The park condition, the changing facilities, the playing staff, the background around fundraising – all of that needs to be in place for you to compete well in that top division.“Cambuslang, with all due respect, hasn’t had that infrastructure for a number of years, we’re not set up for that level.“We tried the best we could and did well on some occasions, but in the cold light of day we still went down, because we didn’t win enough games and get enough points on the board.“But everything else was causing us difficulties in the background as well.“There were a couple of games where we only had 11 players, we had no subs, and couldn’t afford to get more in of a calibre that
