Cambuslang Rangers co-boss Paul McColl says he has agreements with 10-12 new players for next season as he targets a good season in the West of Scotland League First Division. But until he has the deals through, McColl is staying tight-lipped on who his new stars are, for fear of them being snapped up by clubs offering more money.McColl has been stung by that in the past, and says the difference can often be as little as £30 a week extra. He said: “We’ve not started pre-season yet because the season hasn’t that long finished, and we can’t start until we get the right amount of players.“We’re getting there, but we’re probably going to start training on Monday, and that gives us a wee bit of time.

The season doesn’t start for another five weeks, so there’s no panic.“We’ve got maybe about 10 to 12 new players in, so we’re getting there.

We have an agreement with these guys, they’re signed, but that doesn’t go through probably until this week.“There are quite a few good players there.

We’ve had to take our time with it, but it’s difficult to get players in when you’re down a division, because good players want to stay in the Premier League, or want more money.“A lot of teams put players up, splash them about, but we don’t want to do that until they’re signed and fully through.“We were stung with one last season, so I’m not doing that again.
