Jim Goodwin has revealed what still needs to happen before Calvin Ramsay ’s move to Liverpool can go through. Aberdeen have agreed an initial fee of £4.5million with the Anfield club, but that could increase by another £3.5million with various add-ons.
And Goodwin believes the teenager will fit in well on Merseyside, being of a similar mould to Jurgen Klopp’s current first choice full-backs. “The two clubs have agreed a fee then there’s all the other little things that need to go on behind the scenes,” he explained on Sky Sports. “Calvin needs to pass a medical and agree personal terms. “It’s a very exciting opportunity for Calvin and his family, no doubt.
The academy staff at Aberdeen deserve a huge amount of credit for developing Calvin and giving him the opportunity in the first team. “He’s not one I can take a huge amount of credit for to be honest.
He was in the team prior to me coming here. “ Liverpool are very lucky if that deal does go through as they’re looking at a very exciting young talent who won the Young Player of the Year award last year. “We certainly had high hopes for Calvin and no doubt he’ll go from strength to strength at a very good team in Liverpool.‘When you look at the way they play, it’s with very attacking-minded and offensive full backs.
