Ibrox after stellar performances in both Europa League and Scottish Cup finals capped off an excellent second season at Rangers.
Aston Villa were one club mentioned early on but it's now fellow Premier League club Brighton and Hove Albion who are strongly linked, alongside Dutch champions Ajax.
The Daily Express report that Ajax are seeking Bassey out at a replacement for Manchester United-bound Lisandro Martínez, and are the 'highest bidders' at present for Leicester City's former youth player.
Brighton meanwhile have also lodged a bid with the asking price reported to be in the region of £25 million. Rangers are also reported as willing to 'encourage an auction' as to help raise what they claim.
