Callum McGregor will walk out with Scott Brown at Parkhead carrying wreaths in memory of European Cup winner Bertie Auld on Sunday.
The current Celtic captain reckons that, in future, his predecessor will be hailed alongside the club’s most iconic players.McGregor took the armband from Brown in the summer when the legendary Hoops midfielder moved on to Aberdeen.
The Scotland star admits he’s trying to emulate his former team-mate in the role as Celtic’s leader, while at the same time being his own man.But McGregor knows that with a trophy haul of 22 in a decade at the club, Brown will forever be revered by supporters, just like the late, great Auld.
