Baffled St Johnstone boss Callum Davidson has called for an urgent review of the hand-ball rules to bring an end to the ongoing spot kick free-for-all.Davidson’s side were awarded two penalties in Wednesday night’s 3-2 defeat at home to Hearts.
The visitors also opened the scoring from the spot after VAR spotted a hand ball from Ryan McGowan - despite ref Willie Collum initially awarding a corner.
The latest flurry of controversial decisions means an avalanche of 30 penalties have been dished out across 48 top flight matches since the new video technology was introduced.
That compares with a total of 17 spot kicks over the first 63 games of the season.And the exasperated Davidson has called on the powers that be to review the current regulations before the Scottish game turns into a farce.
