A dad described as "callous and dishonest" killed his girlfriend in a horror crash then tried to pin the blame on her. Kevin Marsh got behind the wheel after drinking gin and taking cocaine, and then smashed his Ford Fiesta into a bin lorry in a head-on collision killing his partner Michelle Atherton, aged 47.
He then attempted to pin the blame on her, claiming that she had grabbed the steering wheel immediately beforehand, but he was convicted of causing death by dangerous driving at a trial at Liverpool Crown Court yesterday.
Ms Atherton's family could be heard shouting cries of "yes" in the public gallery at the verdict but Marsh showed no reaction.
He is due to be sentenced on Thursday, the Liverpool Echo reports.Marsh was told he faced an "inevitable custodial sentence" by Judge David Aubrey KC.
