Busted rejected a lot of "lame" reality TV offers which risked ruining the band. The 'Year 3000' pop rockers - who split in 2005 before James Bourne and Matt Willis formed supergroup McBusted with McFly in 2014, followed by an actual reunion with bandmate Charlie Simpson a couple of years later - turned down plenty of pitches before they got back together.
Singer James told the Daily Star newspaper's Wired column: "We care a lot about our band. Before Busted came back by way of the supergroup Busted and before we knew if Charlie Simpson would do it again, we were getting a lot of offers to do things. "But a lot of those offers were really lame offers, the kind you get if you have no direction or if you don't know what you want for yourself. "Just lame celebrity-driven offers.
If we had taken those offers we would have ruined our band. " Bassist Matt has appeared on a number of reality shows including the likes of 'Celebrity MasterChef', and he even won 'I'm A Celebrity. . .
Get Me Out Of Here!' back in 2006. However, James has insisted some musicians simply chase fame and "knacker" their bands by focusing more on being a celebrity.
